Ford Model T at the Tillman County Courthouse harkens back to the 1922 structure's earliest years. |
Antique cars exhibited at courthouse
Members
of a Ford Model T Club brought their cars to Frederick during a tour of
southwest Oklahoma and spent the day viewing local attractions and visiting
with local citizens. And… While they toured the town, their cars attracted
plenty of attention!
The
11 Ford Model T’s parked in a row at the north edge of the Tillman County
Courthouse parking lot drew a steady stream of visitors throughout the day.
The
cars’ owners were from locations throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri. They
spent the day touring the Pioneer Townsite Museum, The Crawford Collection, the
Ramona Theatre, Hotel Frederick and the Grand Coffee Shop, and the World War II
Airborne Demonstration Team’s headquarters.
The Frederick Arts and Humanities Council hosted lunch for them at the Lois Long Center.
At the museum they were fascinated by the story of the Abernathy boys and as old car enthusiasts, the historical society’s 1910 Brush Runabout was a particular point of interest.
